Media Planners


Responsibility of the media planning department begins when the ad is complete. Media Department is primarily responsible for the planning, scheduling, booking and purchase of space and time (in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV, and outdoor hoardings).

The media department must therefore devise the most efficient and effective use for an advertising budget to impressively and economically transmit a campaign message to the target audience. This department consists of the Media Planners and Media Buyers.

Media planners collect information on the public’s viewing and reading habits, and evaluate editorial content and programming to determine the potential use of media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television, or the Internet. Media buyers track the media space and times available for purchase, negotiate and purchase time and space for ads, and make sure that the ads appear exactly as scheduled.
