Maintenance Engineer
The aviation industry nurtures two main branches: The Flying Branch, and the Maintenance Branch. While aircraft pilots fly the aircrafts, the aircraft maintenance engineers (AME) are concerned with the immaculate maintenance of the aircrafts. An aircraft maintenance engineer has to obtain a license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. Appropriate training is imparted to the aspirants for servicing and proper maintenance of aircrafts to ensure 100 per cent flight safety. After the completion of the requisite course and passing the internal exam, aspirants have to clear the licensing exam conducted by the DGCA.
Engineers specializing in repair work rely on the pilot’s description of a problem to find and fix faulty equipment. They have to work with utmost care and concern, and quickly and hurriedly, but very scrupulously for well-rounded safety of the flights.
