Interior Designer
Interior designers plan, design, and furnish the interiors of private homes & houses, public buildings, and commercial establishments such as offices, restaurants, malls & multiplexes, hospitals, hotels and theaters, either as new constructions or renovations. With a client's tastes, requirements, and budget in mind, interior designers develop designs along with the architects, and prepare working drawings and specifications for interior construction, furnishings, lighting and finishes. Interior designers deal with both technical engineering issues and the aesthetic design issues. Many interior designers later on become interior decorators, aesthetic architects, graphic designers, and computer graphics consultants.
Interior design requires integrating the skills of an engineer and an artist. Interior designers must know about color, fabric, and furniture, and their various aesthetic combinations, along with budget, materials, and communication. It may be noted that Interior designers are not the same as the interior decorators. Interior decorators deal with the finishing elements of a home or building, while the interior designers work closely with architects during the various construction phases of a building.
