The Government accountants maintain and examine the government records on behalf of the government. They work for diverse governmental agencies at the federal, state, or the local level, or for the corporations or individuals who are regulated & controlled by the government.

Those accountants who work directly for the government ensure precisely that the income and spending are appropriate, productive, and legal. And those accountants who work for the federal government generally work for the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) or offer other services such as the investigation of the financial institutions, analyzing budgets, administration, or management of finances.
