Art Directors
Art department commanding the art directors, visualizes the advertising and promotion campaigns. Art directors and their assistants develop the very visual concepts and designs of advertisements. Art directors are in charge of professionals and supporting workers who produce artwork for magazines, ads, or products. Art directors manage the production of all the different pieces that go into creating diverse artworks and ads. They supervise the work of artists, photographers, graphic designers, copywriters, and production staff. Art directors also make sure that projects are completed punctually and to the client's satisfaction.
Art directors start new projects by meeting with clients to discuss the project. They learn from them what the purpose of the artwork will be. Artwork can be used in an ad, on a web page, video game, or on a product package. Knowing the purpose of the artwork helps art directors greatly in focusing their ideas more strikingly and impressively. Art directors also ask their clients about their budget, preferred styles, and timeline. Art directors occasionally do some of the artwork themselves, but their time is generally taken up by the supervisory and administrative duties.
